¿Porque Es Importante Votar?

Si usted mira la televisión o escucha el radio, tal vez ya se entero que hay una elección muy importante este martes, el 6 de noviembre. ¿Porque es importante votar? Aquí están dos simple razones por cuales nuestra gente debería ir a las urnas.

• Primero, su voto es su voz. Todos los que son ciudadanos de este país tienen el derecho y el deber de participar en el proceso electoral. Si no hablamos por nosotros mismos, otros hablarán por nosotros.
• En segundo lugar, para sacar adelante a nuestras familias y comunidades, necesitamos elegir líderes que van a representar a nuestros intereses. Es importantísimo que los funcionarios de Minnesota consideren como sus decisiones van a impactarnos. Para asegurarse de tener buena representación en el gobierno, es esencial que voten a favor de candidatos que tengan sus valores.  

Por último, les recuerdo que si no están registrados para votar todavía, lo pueden hacer en las urnas. Solo necesitan llevar documentos que confirmen su dirección de hogar y una ID de gobierno con su nombre. Nosotros tenemos el poder de lograr cambios y con el voto, si se puede.

Why is it important to vote?

If you watch TV or listen to the radio, you might have heard there’s a very important election this Tuesday, November 6th. Why is it important to vote? Here’s two simple reasons why our community should go to the polls.

First, your vote is your voice. Every US citizen has the right and the responsibility to participate in the electoral process. If we don’t speak for ourselves, others will speak up for us.

Secondly, to uplift our families and communities, we need to elect leaders who will represent our interests. It’s very important that our Minnesota elected officials consider how their decisions will impact us. To be assured that you have good representation in government, it’s essential to vote for candidates that represent your values.

Lastly, I want to remind you all that if you’re not registered to vote already, you can do it at the polls. All you need is to bring documents that confirm your home address and a government issued ID with your name. We have the power to make changes and we can do it by voting.
