ACTIVISTA LIDER DE “FAST FOR FAMILIES ” VISITA MINNESOTA.

Rudy Lopez meets with Minneapolis Mayor Hodges and other local leaders to urge approval for immigration reform.

The activist group “Fast for Families” (Fast for Families) visited the Twin Cities offering a press conference at City Hall along with Mayor Betsy Hodges and other local leaders in favor of comprehensive immigration reform. The goal is to join forces and achieve that this year 2014 is the year in which the movement for immigration reform see achieve its mission.

Mayor Betsy Hodges showed solidarity with the role of this group of leaders indicate be aware that the system is clearly broken – “need to keep families together, we need to bring them together and make sure there is a specific path to citizenship for all these aspirants citizens, “said Hodges who also indicated that it has joined a coalition of mayors that starting this year, wrote a letter to Congress to ensure that the issue of immigration reform is considered to vote within the floor of Congress.

Fasting for families “Fast for Families” was held between November 12 and December 12, just in the shadows of the Capitol in Washington, in a period where the movement was not much activity, to highlight the importance of truth and reason behind this immigration reform, fasting was organized as a sacrifice that symbolically sets the compassion for the suffering of the people who have suffered the consequences of the current immigration system.

Rudy Lopez said he will be back this March 18, as part of its national tour of 70 cities in promoting fasting as a sacrifice to support families in their fight for immigration reform by inviting the local community to be present during those events.

Among the attendees were several city councilors, local press and community leaders from the Twin Cities.
